Cover Art Talks

I have started talks with some folks over on Fiverr, and I must say, the cover art industry is absolutely nuts! There is an overwhelming number of artists out there, each with their unique styles and perspectives. Some of these creatives are enthusiastic proponents of AI technology, swearing by its capabilities to enhance their work and streamline their creative processes, while others are adamantly cursing its very existence, viewing it as a threat to the traditional artistry they hold dear.

I completely understand the divide in opinions. AI can indeed be a menace to some, especially those who feel that it undermines the value of human creativity and craftsmanship. On the flip side, for individuals who have always dreamed of breaking into the art world but lacked the resources or skills to do so, AI can serve as a saving grace. It opens doors that were previously closed, allowing aspiring artists to experiment and create without the steep learning curve that traditional methods often require.

From my personal standpoint, I believe that using AI as a tool to assist with research and inspiration isn't a bad idea at all. It can provide valuable insights, generate ideas, and even help in the brainstorming phase of art creation. However, I do have my reservations about AI being utilized to create art that is overly simplistic or generic. This widespread use of AI-generated artwork could potentially devalue the hard work and dedication that both artists and authors put into their craft. If the market becomes flooded with easy-to-create art, it may lead to a situation where unique, handcrafted pieces are overshadowed, making it difficult for traditional artists to thrive.
