Taking Your Measurements

Hey citizens of #QueryIsland ! Let me ask you a question! How do you measure yourself or your success as applied to your writing journey?
By sales? By rejections? By full or partial requests? My opinion? Any of the above is the wrong way to go. I know! Success ans failure are evident in the numbers, right?
No! That's the world talking! Or even worse, your demotivation talking!
Kick that little demotivation or depression devil off your shoulders if the rough side of querying you is killing your morale.
I suffer from it just like anyone else. To dismiss its effects as if they dont exist is a fool's endeavor. However, I do also acknowledge that as writers, we create the world's entertainment! That counts for something!
Yes, some of us are rock stars from the start, some get lucky, and others just bust their ass to get good! No matter how you get to "arrive" on the publishing scene, remember that you write what others read and that can mold hearts abd shape minds!
So if you haven't "arrived" yet, big deal! You will get there somehow if you keep pushing and put in the work. Also reach out to your damned #WritingCommunity for support! YOU AREN'T ALONE! You have a host of writers that want to encourage and motivate you!
WE ARE WRITERS AND WRITERS ARE LEGION ON #QueryIsland !
