What's An Aspiring Writer To Do?

As a member of the #WritingCommunity, I sometimes have to reconcile the possibility of never being traditionally published. It's a fact, most don't get published that way and I have accepted it.
The truth is, accepting that makes me feel like an writer and not like an author. Many authors say, "You an author if you have written a piece." Of course most of them are already published. Nothing against them, congratulations to their success, but until I am published I will always feel like just a writer.
For me the title/status of author is like a rite of Ascension in a way. It's like if you are traditionally published the industry has acknowledged you as a good writer. It's almost like being judged as worthy by your literary betters. I don't know the logic of this logic, but it is how I feel. Feelings, especially those of an aspiring writer, are rarely logical.
So as mayor of #QueryIsland , I will keep writing. Hopefully, I will not only feel like an author one day, but actually be one.
WRITERS ARE LEGION
