Unspoken Fray

I don’t need you. Men hear it every day

We’re battered and beaten in many a different way

A war in Ukraine, and a war in the middle east

Men and women might soon need many a priest

My emotions are scattered on who wins and who dares

To come forward and care, through such angry stares

We’re not here to fight, but to coexist and commune

Lets drop our domestic arsenal and make music in tune

My tears are real.  Her strength exists.

I’ll still protect her. Her nurturing persists.

Let her become a queen. Queens back up their kings.

Let him be a king. Kings give queens rings.

Our war is personal.  Thousands of years in the making

Our battle scars show.  Society’s breath for the taking.

Why don’t we work as one?  Grow society anew

Get out of each other’s way.  Build as one, with the power of two.

Men and women are strong in different ways.

We act differently, but on our knees either prays.

Slavery, oppression, abuse, devastate either side

Repeat offenders both, sending the other for a ride

I’m no philosopher, but I speak the wisdom of the stars

I need her, as she needs me, we’re neither from Venus or Mars.
